Learn How to Download and Install TWRP Recovery on Your Smartphone

Files needed

Drivers

Download the driver corresponding to the brand of your device and install on the PC so that the procedure is successful.

CPU-Z

The CPU-Z application is a universal way to find the model and other specifications of the device.

When you open the application, you must select the “SYSTEM” tab and observe the “build” option. In addition to the tag, this is the information needed so that there are no errors when downloading TWRP.

USB debugging mode

Now that you have downloaded the necessary files and already know the specifications of the device, the next step is to enable USB debugging.

Go to settings/system/advanced/Developer options and turn on the “Android Debugging” option.

ADB Tools

Now the action is to organize the files and perform the procedure.

Open the “ADB Tools.rar” file and extract it to the PC desktop.

Copy the file “TWRP.img”, paste it inside the newly extracted folder and rename it “recovery.img”.

Recovery mode

There are different ways to enter recovery mode on Android, below the list of some brands.

Motorola 

1. Hang up the phone.
2. Press and hold the “Power” and “Volume – “keys.
3. The phone will turn on and the menu to open recovery mode will appear.

Google Nexus

1. Hang up the phone.
2. Press and hold the Power Volume and Volume keys – until you see a menu with the recovery mode option.

Lg

1. Turn off your LG phone.
2. Press and hold the “Power” and “Volume – ” keys until you see the LG logo.
3. Navigate to Recovery Mode.

Installation

With recovery mode active, it remains to connect the usb cable to the PC and run the following commands within the ADB Tools folder:

Pressed the “SHIFT” key, right click on the empty folder space until the options appear. Select “Open Power Shell window here” or “open window” on older versions of Windows.

Paste the following command into the newly opened window:

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Done!
