The HP Digital Imaging Monitor is a program used by many HP all-in-one printers. It is automatically installed in the start folder and opens automatically when you turn on your computer. It consumes a volume of system resources and can slow down your computer’s performance. You can disable this feature by opening it at computer startup or anytime you like.

How to Disable the HP Digital Imaging Monitor

Digital imaging monitor is a part of the HP software that communicates with your HP printer. This program enables you to read the inklevels, get an out of paper message, scan from the unit to the comuter and so on. Its not neccesary, but it will limit the printers use if you remove it.

How to Disable the HP Digital Imaging Monitor

Step 1

Click the Windows “Start” menu and click the “Start Search” box if you are using Windows 7 or Vista. For Windows XP users, click “Run”.

Step 2

Type “msconfig” (without the quotes) into the search box and press “Enter” to open the “System Configuration Utility” control.

Step 3

Select the “Startup” tab. A list of applications that open automatically when you start your computer will appear.

Step 4

Scroll through the list of programs and uncheck the HP Digital Monitor application. Note from your processor, “hpqtra08.exe.”

Step 5

Click “Apply” to save the changes and then “OK”. When prompted, restart your computer.
